Update August 8th, 2010

Dear Salmon Steelhead Anglers,

New arrivals! Time to get stocked up on small flies for August and think about your big flies for mid to late September. Lots of fish around but lower water conditions prevail at the moment. I am currently using dry flies and single and double Partridge #8, #10 and #7 in the Alec Jackson hooks.

The hot patterns to date have been (not in any particular order); Picasse, Dylan Spey and Dark Spey, Jones, Magog Smelt, John Olin and John Olin Long Wink (aka Jimmy Olin), Paul Caron Stonefly, Green Spey, Ghost Stonefly, Green Stonefly, Sivler Hilton, Undertaker, Out to Lunch and the Aldo. I cannot say that I have  had much action on dry flies because I have simply not used that many this year yet. The water is high and most of our fishing has been wet fly. I am sure that August and early September will be an entirely different story. Usual during these two months I switch over to a lot of dries and bug patterns. We recently received a very large shipment of superb dry flies and are expecting another shipment in then next day or two. Please check them out on our dry fly page.

I would also like you all to know that you can find many of our flies (SHADOW FLIES) at these fine fly fishing shops and outfitters: ( I will be making links to these fine establishments soon). I encourage you all to visit them if you can!

Welcome to www.salmonsteelheadflies.com !

It has been said "When we tie Atlantic salmon or Steelhead flies we aren't really tying them to catch the fish, rather, we are tying them to catch the anglers eye and ultimately - their imagination."

If this is indeed true, I think you are going to like the selection of flies you are about to see!

You are about to see some of the finest tied flies you can find anywhere. Period. I guarantee it!

A few things you should know while surfing this site:

All of my flies are tied with the finest materials available and are tied on quality hooks including; Partridge,  Daiichi, Owner, Alec Jackson (Daiichi), and Mustad (for dry flies and a few bugs).
